If you thought that the HTC One M9 was the only thing the Taiwanese company was preparing for MWC 2015, you were wrong. Enter the HTC Grip, the company’s take on a fitness tracker, powered by UA Record, and Under Armour.
Accurate tracking is the keyword HTC uses in describing the functionalities of the product, and also setting it aside from competitors. It supports a range of sports and activities, while being also a training companion and trainer combination that allows the user to set goals, and then strive to achieve them.
The waterproof build houses an eight-inch PMOLED mono flexible display with capacitive touch and 32 x 160 resolution. The band runs on RTOS and is powered by a STM32L151QDH6 processor. There are 8MB of RAM and 16MB of flash storage, in addition to the 100mAh battery which is good for 2.5 days, or 5 hours with the GPS activated.
Other notable features include the sensors: Sensor Hub (STM32F411), G-sensor, Gyro, Compass, GPS, and Light sensor, as well as a vibrator. The build is rated IP57 for dust & water resistance, and also shock resistance (compliant with MIL-STD-810G 516.6 Procedure I, IV).
